DbVisualizer 6.5 - What's New

We're very pleased to announce the public release of DbVisualizer 6.5. The following highlights some of the news.

General

  • The new Check for Update feature notifies you when a new DbVisualizer version is available.
  • Export and Import User Settings enable easy migration of all your settings to another computer or user account.
  • Now supports User Defined Export Setting Defaults
  • Automatic data type detection in Table Data Import

Create and Edit Trigger

  • New Create and Edit Trigger feature for Oracle, DB2 for LUW, Mimer, PostgreSQL, Sybase ASE, SQL Server, MySQL, JavaDB/Derby and Informix

Edit and Compile application objects

  • New Create, Edit and Compile of Procedure, Function, Module, Package and Package Body application objects in Oracle, DB2 for LUW, Mimer, PostgreSQL, Sybase ASE, SQL Server, MySQL, JavaDB/Derby and Informix.

    (Exact database support is documented in the Database Specific Support documents).

Export Schema/Database

  • New Export Schema/Database feature lets you export the DDL for schema objects including table data in SQL or XML format. This can then be used to re-create or migrate the objects in another database server.
    (This is available for Oracle, DB2 for LUW, Mimer, PostgreSQL, Sybase ASE, SQL Server, MySQL, JavaDB/Derby and Informix)

SQL Commander improvements

  • SQL Formatting with new options and Format Current option
  • Re-written Variable Substitution Feature that remembers previous values and presents the final SQL in an instant preview
  • Support for Parameter Markers
  • Log entry navigation will automatically position the cursor on the statement when clicking on a log entry

Oracle Support

  • New actions and views for Clone User, Job objects, Database Links Directories, File IO, Tablespace usage, Resize Datafile, Table space usage by user, Table Partitions, Table Sub Partitions, View Triggers, Index Partitions, Index Sub Partitions, Blocking Locks, Object Cache, Redo Logs, Analyze Table, Create View, Grant Privilege and String Search.
  • Added support for viewing and managing the Scheduler in Oracle
