Users and licenses
To give users access to DbVisualizer you will want to add users and assign them to seats in your subscription. When you do, users will receive licenses which will activate DbVisualizer Pro. If your users already have installed licenses, these will be used to automatically claim seats in your subscription. In this section, you will learn more.
What's in this section
- Adding users to your organization: learn how to invite people manually or via a CSV upload, how users can be onboarded automatically when they sign in to DbVisualizer with one of your licenses, and how the Owner, Admin, and member roles work.
- Managing licenses: learn how to assign seats to users, see usage at a glance from the User Summary, and understand the different license statuses (Active, Assigned, Downloaded, and so on).
- Using a license in DbVisualizer: learn the two ways your users can activate their license, either by signing in directly inside DbVisualizer (recommended, requires 26.1.1+) or by downloading a
dbvis.licensefile manually. - Unassigning and reassigning licenses: learn how to reassign a seat from one team member to another, and how to revoke access for users you no longer want to be able to use DbVisualizer.
- Non-logged-in users: learn how users can keep using DbVisualizer without signing in, including offline use and perpetual licenses for older versions.
- Enterprise licensing: learn about licensing options for enterprises that need a shared license key or strict offline workflows.
