★★★★★★★★★★Easy Database Navigation with Flexible Multi-DB Connections What do you like best about DbVisualizer? The ability to connect to multiple types of databases (MySQL, Athena, etc.) and color-code each one based on things like environment is huge. I also like that I can quickly view different features of a SQL DB through a simple, easy-to-use navigation system. What do you dislike about DbVisualizer? It’s missing some basics, like a solid fuzzy search when I’m writing a query. Often I roughly know the table or column name, but I don’t always remember the exact prefix offhand, and it slows me down. On top of that, the pricing feels high, both for a first-time purchase and for renewals, especially compared with most competitor offerings. What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you? I can quickly search for data issues or pull data for a quick report. Being able to write a query against a development database first, refine it, and then run that same query in the same tab against a prod DB helps me catch performance issues early. ★★★★★★★★★★Easy to Navigate, Efficient Query Tabs, and Handy Grid Editi...
★★★★★★★★★★Easy to Navigate, Efficient Query Tabs, and Handy Grid Editing What do you like best about DbVisualizer? I'm a QA tester for school district software and I'm in DbVisualizer Pro pretty much every day, mostly against our PostgreSQL & MSSQL databases for our internal services and our customers. A lot of my testing depends on having the right data before I start. For example, if I'm testing a report download screen I need a print file my test login can actually see. I just poke around the tables, write a quick query (autocomplete fills in most of the table and column names) and I've got what I need in a couple of minutes. After the test I run the same query again to make sure what the app saved matches what the screen showed me.I use the software mostly for fixing payrolls for our customers. I can easily back up and back out data, which allows me to rerun programs to repost payrolls. I have used other types of DB softwares but prefer DBVisualizer. It's easy to use and user friendly in my opinion. I haven't used it for integrations yet as I haven't needed it for that reason.Getting started was easy. I had it connected to our servers and was running queries the first day. Between the docs and the built-in help I haven't needed to contact support.Performance has been fine for me. I leave it open all day with a few tabs and connections and it keeps up, even with bigger result sets. I love that I can adjust the number of rows of data display to help with performance as well.I have not used the AI features in DBVisualizer yet, not sure if I will anytime soon. I mainly use external AI features to help in my daily duties. We pay for Pro and I think it's worth it. Stuff I used to have to ask a developer to check, I just do myself now, several times a day. Grid editing and the export options alone make it worth it over the free version for me.What do you dislike about DbVisualizer? Slow on huge schemas. Loading the table list or the relationships view can lag on very large databases.Dated look. It works well but looks older than some newer tools.License cost. The Pro license can be a hard sell to a manager when there's a free edition and free alternatives. What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you? As a QA tester, I need to confirm that what the application shows matches what's actually in the database. Before DbVisualizer, that meant asking a developer to run a query for me, or testing blind and hoping the data was right. Now I can do it myself.Finding the right test data. I can quickly find records that fit a test case, such as a user with the right permissions or a file a test login can see, instead of guessing or setting up data by trial and error.Checking results after a test. After I run a test, I query the database to confirm the change really happened and the screen isn't just showing what I expect. The benefit is speed and independence. I spend less time waiting on developers, my bug reports are clearer and more convincing, and I catch data problems that a UI-only test would miss. One tool connects to all our QA databases, so I'm not switching between apps. View ↗

The UI feels intuitive, and I really appreciate that it still runs smoothly even when I’m working with an enormous number of lines in a SQL Commander window. That reliability is especially useful for my day-to-day work. I also find the export options easy to use which is very useful for creating reports. What do you dislike about DbVisualizer? When that happens, I’m forced to restart the entire application through Task Manager, which means I have to rerun those queries. I’ve also noticed that when auto-commit is turned off, it doesn’t clearly indicate whether a function run has been committed. This can lead to situations where I accidentally leave a function uncommitted without realizing it.What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you? ★★★★★★★★★★The multi-database tool your mom warned you about What do you like best about DbVisualizer? DbVis's biggest strength in my work flow is the ability to connect to multiple database backends. The ability to name tabs without saving, the logging interface, ability to export results, and doing so while feeling snappy. It makes for a fantastic experience. I don't use the AI features as of now, but hope to dig into them when I finally have time. I've never had to reach out to support because the software just works - I've yet to find anything confusing, or anything that wasn't intuitive. Getting DbVis installed and connected took maybe 5 minutes, and I was writing queries. For the money, it genuinely can't be beat. What do you dislike about DbVisualizer? If I had to pick a couple of things I find to be friction points, it would be the aggressiveness of the auto-complete - though there may be settings for this, and the VIM integration. The autocomplete can get rather bothersome trying to guess what you're doing, and it doesn't stop. It would be nice if the timeout was per word, vs per initial autocomplete pop-up. The VIM integration is incomplete at best. I'm VERY glad it's there, it will be nice if they round it out add full functionality. What problems is DbVisualizer solving and how is that benefiting you? Having a single interface to interact with not only multiple databases, but different database backends, is a game changer. No more switching from MSSQL to pgAdmin to Mongo. It's all just in one place. View ↗

Really great database tool Really positive experience with a great product that I can recommend to anybody that works with different databases.Pros Really easy to use with many different databases and auth options. Have not yet found any thing that can’t be done.Cons Java setup and dependencies can be a bit tricky on some setups, but I have it working on both windows and Linux, so not that bad.

View ↗

View ↗

★★★★★★★★★★DBVisualizer: The Swiss Army Knife for Multi-Database Management For teams working across multiple database platforms, DBVisualizer offers a solid, reliable solution that reduces context-switching. It's not the flashiest tool on the market, but its stability and broad compatibility make it a dependable choice for daily database work.Pros Universal Compatibility — The ability to connect to virtually any database through a single interface is a huge time-saver. No more switching between different tools depending on which database you're working with.Cons Performance can lag slightly with very large result sets; Initial setup for some database types requires hunting down the correct JDBC drivers View ↗
